Iriarte Jauregia Hotel - Bidegoian

Positive, The views from our Superior Double Room were amazing. The gardens offered a peaceful oasis. I loved the amazing hike nearby. It was a highlight of our short stay. Staff members were super helpful, especially Alasne. A fantastic experience!

A beautifully renovated hotel situated in spectacular countryside. A warm and welcoming family and staff run the hotel. Difficult to find but having arrived you do not want to leave.

The staff who could not do enough for you. The luxurious decor and location. The restaurant offered amazing meals. We found the Iriarte Jauregia purely by chance but what an absolutely gem of a hotel. We chose it mainly on the comments of previous guests and were not disappointed. We arrived late but the hotel could not have been more accomodating.

Solo travelers treasure

Arriving at this historical place was like stepping into another world! I was stoked by the ambience, an very nice blend of old charm and modern touch that just.

Accommodations weren't exactly cheap but for what you get, it's against worth it.

The units are well decorated, modern with fantastic views across the hills.

All was perfect!

Hotel is an aesthetic treat to the eyes, down to the smallest details. Looks like authentic castle, with all refined modern comfort.

a. Difficulty in locating hotel, even with GPS, in a region where no soul is in sight at 7p.m. Suggest adding a few road signs. b. If anything, hotel is a little over manicured and tidy. Every single leaf is in place. A beautiful museum room is not the place where you like to plump down and read.

Let's talk about what really matters

Nestled in the enchanting Basque countryside, this historical gem boasts superb accommodations and amazing views. The breakfast, with homemade delicacies, is awesome. Friendly staff enhance the experience. While parking is easy, be prepared for winding roads. Arrive with care!

Ivan and his wife are excellent hosts. Their palace is absolutely beautiful and all the staff is very attentive to details. We were lost on the way and arrived late. When we reached the hotel, they made us feel like home. Prepared a beautiful dinner for us (even after the closing of the kitchen). Check in and check out were absolutely flawless. I would highly recommend this hotel.

A little bit hard to reach, but worth the trip.

Beautifully restored hotel with very nice furniture located outside a small village not too far from Pyrenees and San Sebastian. Rooms are very comfortable and hotel is quiet. Very helpfull staff which speaks good English (and one person even Dutch).

The restaurant serves a limited menu with items which are below what you expect in such a hotel. The rooms are around 10-20% overpriced compared to likewise hotels we stayed.

I almost gave this place a good review, but the breakfast is basic and should have been better for the price. I was also appalled that while others dined fine, my beef cheeks were overcooked- how inconsiderate. Plus, a welcome gift woudl ve been nice considering my troubles. Just not excellent.

Beautiful location in Bidegoian, near several extraordinarily delicious dining experiences, the Pays Basque, a perfect spot from whence to explore San Sebastian and Bilbao, and the bistro and breakfast. Sensational breakfast items; knowledgeable and hospitable staff...

This building was obviously built to impress the local population and must still impress anybody that sees it. It looks rock solid and four square. The setting in an alpine valley is simply stunning and the interior has been designed and fitted to a very high standard. If you like wood, have a look at the floor boards on the first landing, they glow. Staff are very helpful, could provide a garlic free meal and a good breakfast given we had an early start. This is a Relais du Silence hotel and is calm and relaxed, especially compared to the hectic coast. We were passing through, which did not do it justice.

Be sure to print off and take a large scale location map from the hotel website, its tricky to find, we needed help from two friendly road menders.

fine architecture, amazing views, peaceful garden spaces

The bar area lacks a cute atmosphere!!! Limited dining options in the Bistro feel uninspired, and the winding roads make night arrivals quite frustrating for any traveler!!! More amenities like a pool would have been perfect!!!

The location and the hotel are stunning. The reception areas and the room are very well restoredand decorated. The staff were efficient, welcoming and courtious. We could have stayed several days.
